About Me

Jessica L. Hays is aconceptual photographer, alternative process printmaker, and curator fromBozeman, Montana. Her work focuses on human relationship, issues of mentalhealth, loneliness, trauma, loss, and places of healing. She works in a varietyof processes, including historic and alternative photo processes, experimentaldarkroom techniques, pigment printing, and handmade artist books. Born andraised in Montana, Hays has bachelor’s degrees in Photography and LiberalStudies with a minor in Psychology from Montana State University, and is an MFAcandidate at Columbia College. Her work has been shown both regionally andnationally, and Hays has lectured on topics of mental health andalternative process photography at conferences and art openings
